We found this gem in an antique store in Pennsylvania. This is a glass alcohol proof hydrometer from the US Customs Office. The temperature corrections and rules are handwritten! It is fun to ponder how this unit was calibrated and sealed, and the time and expense of creating it. One may also wonder if this was used before or during Prohibition, and how carefully it must have been transported!
